Hebrews 12:11 ...no chastening seems to be joyful for the present, but painful; nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceable fruit of righteousness to those who have been trained by it.

Proverbs 8:32-33 Now therefore, listen to me, my children, For blessed are those who keep my ways. Hear instruction and be wise, And do not disdain it.

Hebrews 12:5-8 “ My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, Nor be discouraged when you are rebuked by Him; For whom the LORD loves He chastens, And scourges every son whom He receives.” If you endure chastening, God deals with you as with sons; for what son is there whom a father does not chasten? But if you are without chastening, of which all have become partakers, then you are illegitimate and not sons.

Proverbs 8:10-11 Receive my instruction, and not silver, And knowledge rather than choice gold...

Proverbs 19:20 Listen to counsel and receive instruction, That you may be wise in your latter days.

But this is what I commanded them, saying, ‘Obey My voice, and I will be your God, and you shall be My people. And walk in all the ways that I have commanded you, that it may be well with you.’ Yet they did not obey or incline their ear, but followed the counsels and the dictates of their evil hearts, and went backward and not forward.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way that seems right to a man, But its end is the way of death.

Jeremiah 7:25-28 Since the day that your fathers came out of the land of Egypt until this day, I have even sent to you all My servants the prophets, daily rising up early and sending them. Yet they did not obey Me or incline their ear, but stiffened their neck. They did worse than their fathers. “Therefore you shall speak all these words to them, but they will not obey you. Truth has perished and has been cut off from their mouth.

Revelations 3:19 As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. Therefore be zealous and repent.

Does it please Jesus more when you obey Him and His word, rather than ideas, opinions, theologies and tradition? Don't you think Jesus is more pleased when you truly listen for His voice, His instructions and His correction?
