The Truth Will Set You Free!

These were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and
searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so.
(Acts 17:11)

Rejection
Does the Bible really say those who follow Jesus will be hated and rejected?

These doctrines of Jesus have the true answer!

2Timothy 3:12 …all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.

1John 3:13 Do not marvel, my brethren, if the world hates you.

Philippians 1:29 For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake

Matthew 5:10-12 Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, For theirs is the kingdom of heaven. “Blessed are you when they revile and persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you falsely for My sake. Rejoice and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.

James 5:10-11 My brethren, take the prophets, who spoke in the name of the Lord, as an example of suffering and patience. Indeed we count them blessed who endure. You have heard of the perseverance of Job and seen the end intended by the Lord—that the Lord is very compassionate and merciful.

John 15:18-19If the world hates you, you know that it hated Me before it hated you. If you were of the world, the world would love its own. Yet because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.

2Timothy 2:3 You therefore must endure hardship as a good soldier of Jesus Christ.

1Peter 4:12-14 …do not think it strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened to you; but rejoice to the extent that you partake of Christ’s sufferings, that when His glory is revealed, you may also be glad with exceeding joy. If you are reproached for the name of Christ, blessed are you, for the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. On their part He is blasphemed, but on your part He is glorified...

James 1:2-3 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience.

Romans 5:3-4 …knowing that tribulation produces perseverance; and perseverance, character; and character, hope.

1 Peter 4:1-2 Therefore, since Christ suffered for us in the flesh, arm yourselves also with the same mind, for he who has suffered in the flesh has ceased from sin, that he no longer should live the rest of his time in the flesh for the lusts of men, but for the will of God.

2Timothy 4:5 …be watchful in all things, endure afflictions, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

John 16:33 … In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world

Matthew 10:28do not fear those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. But rather fear Him who is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man brings a snare, But whoever trusts in the LORD shall be safe.

1Peter 3:14 & 16-17 …do not be afraid of their threats, nor be troubled.” having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

For if you do fear
Romans 10:14 How then shall they call on Him in whom they have not believed? And how shall they believe in Him of whom they have not heard? And how shall they hear without a preacher?

2Corinthians 2:15 …we are to God the fragrance of Christ among those who are being saved and among those who are perishing.

1 John 4:6 We are of God. He who knows God hears us; he who is not of God does not hear us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error.

1Peter 5:8-10 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world. But may the God of all grace, who called us to His eternal glory by Christ Jesus, after you have suffered a while, perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you.

1Corinthians 4:12-13 …we labor, working with our own hands. Being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure; being defamed, we entreat. We have been made as the filth of the world, the off scouring of all things...

2Corinthians 4:8-9 We are hard-pressed on every side, yet not crushed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed

Romans 8:37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.

Hebrews 12:3-4 consider Him (Jesus) who endured such hostility from sinners against Himself, lest you become weary and discouraged in your souls. You have not yet resisted to bloodshed, striving against sin.

1Peter 4:19 Therefore let those who suffer according to the will of God commit their souls to Him in doing good, as to a faithful Creator.

1Peter 2:19 For this is commendable, if because of conscience toward God one endures grief, suffering wrongfully.

2Timothy 2:12 If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.

2Corinthians 4:16-18 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporary, but the things which are not seen are eternal.

Romans 8:16-18 The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God, and if children, then heirs— heirs of God and joint heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him, that we may also be glorified together. For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.

2Peter 1:5-11 … for this very reason, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue, to virtue knowledge, to knowledge self-control, to self-control perseverance, to perseverance godliness, to godliness brotherly kindness, and to brotherly kindness love. For if these things are yours and abound, you will be neither barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ. For he who lacks these things is shortsighted, even to blindness, and has forgotten that he was cleansed from his old sins. Therefore, brethren, be even more diligent to make your call and election sure, for if you do these things you will never stumble; for so an entrance will be supplied to you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ

Psalm 31:24 Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart, All you who hope in the LORD.

Psalm 20:1-2 May the LORD answer you in the day of trouble; May the name of the God of Jacob defend you; May He send you help from the sanctuary, And strengthen you out of Zion;

“It doesn’t cost you much to follow Jesus-just everything!” Quote from Keith Green, Christian Musician and Singer“Most of us weren’t faced with anything as obvious as the choice between bowing to a false god or being killed. But we are continually tempted to bow to other false gods-to go with the crowd, be ashamed of our convictions, stay silent instead of speaking out for what is right. So we compromise. We harbor secret sins. We bow to invisible idols of wanting to be accepted, of fear, pride, lust, and greed.” Quote from Melody Green, Keith Green’s Wife
