Revelation of The ONE True Church
Does God consider denominations or a building built by men’s hands to be His Church, or is it something else? Have ‘traditions’ of men replaced God’s power and Scripture definition of the "church"?
1Timothy 3:15, ...I write so that you may know how you ought to conduct yourself in the house of God, which is the church of the living God, the pillar and ground of the truth.
Mark 7:9, Jesus warned the religious, “All too well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your tradition.”
Matthew 21:13, Jesus said, "‘My house shall be called a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.'"
Acts 17:24, "God, who made the world and everything in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does NOT dwell in temples made with hands."
Hebrews 9:11, "...Christ came as High Priest...with the greater and more perfect tabernacle NOT made with hands, that is, not of this creation."
John 2:19-20, Jesus said…“Destroy this TEMPLE, and in three days I will raise it up.” (He was)…speaking of the TEMPLE of His body.
So, where does the Lord DWELL now if it is no longer in a building?
1Corinthians 3:16, "Do you not know that YOU are THE TEMPLE of God and that the Spirit of God dwells in you…"
1Corinthians 12:27, "…you are the body of Christ, and members individually."
1Corinthians 3:9, "…you are God’s field, you are God’s BUILDING."
Ephesians 2:19-22, "…therefore, you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but fellow citizens with the saints and members of the household of God, having been built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ Himself being the chief cornerstone, in whom the whole BUILDING, being fitted together, grows into a HOLY TEMPLE in the Lord, in whom you also are being built together for a DWELLING PLACE of God in the Spirit."
1Peter 2:5, "…you also, as living stones, are being built up a SPIRITUAL HOUSE, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ."
Are denominations (factions) biblical?
1 Corinthians 1:10, "Now I plead with you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same thing, and that there be NO DIVISIONS among you, but that you be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment (Scripture/Doctrine)."
1 Corinthians 1:2, “…those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his HOLY PEOPLE, together with ALL THOSE EVERYWHERE who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ—their Lord and ours:”
1Corinthians 3:11, " For NO OTHER foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, WHICH IS Jesus Christ."
Is Jesus and His holy Scripture the HEAD and authority of your congregation?
Ephesians 4:15-16, "...grow up in all things into HIM WHO IS THE HEAD—CHRIST—from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what EVERY joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the BODY for the edifying of itself in love."
Matthew 23:8, Jesus/Salvation said, “But be not be called Rabbi, (Teacher, Pastor): for ONE is your Master, even Christ; and YOU ARE ALL BRETHREN.”
So, should there be one or just a few servant ministers in the Church congregation, or should we all be able to minister?
1Peter 4:10, “As EACH ONE has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”
Colossians 3:15-16, "…let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in ONE BODY; and be thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing ONE ANOTHER in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord."
Romans 15:14, "Now I myself am confident concerning you, my brethren, that you also are full of goodness, filled with all knowledge, able also to admonish ONE ANOTHER."
Romans 12:4, "…but all the members do NOT have the same function…"
Romans 12:6-8, "Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us USE THEM: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness."
Jeremiah 23:28, (The Lord said) "...he who has My word, LET HIM speak My word faithfully."
1Timothy 4:14, “Do not neglect the gift that is in you…”
YES! True Christians are powered by the Holy Spirit and EVERY MEMBER is instructed to minister as the Lord has gifted them! Does your Christian fellowship look like this?
1Corinthians 12:4-11, "There are diversities of GIFTS, but the same Spirit. There are differences of ministries, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of activities, but it is the same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing's by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills."
Proper biblical order of congregational/assembly ministry…
1Corinthians 14:30-40, "But if anything is revealed to ANOTHER WHO SITS BY, let the first keep silent. For you can ALL prophesy one by one, that ALL may learn and ALL may be encouraged. And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets. For God is not the author of confusion but of peace, as in ALL the churches of the saints. Let your women keep silent in the churches, for they are not permitted to speak; but they are to be submissive, as the law also says. And if they want to learn something, let them ask their own husbands at home; for it is shameful for women to speak in church. Or did the word of God come originally from you? Or was it you only that it reached? If anyone thinks himself to be a prophet or spiritual, let him acknowledge that the things which I write to you are the commandments of the Lord. But if anyone is ignorant, let him be ignorant. Therefore, brethren, desire earnestly to prophesy, and do not forbid to speak with tongues. Let ALL things be done decently and in order."
So, what about Christian leaders who reject the Holy Spirit’s power and/or refuse to allow the members of the true congregation the LIBERTY to function in their legitimate God-given spiritual gift?
2 Cor. 3:17, Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is LIBERTY.
Regarding those APPEARING religious, 2 Tim. 3:5, “…having a form of godliness but DENYING its POWER, from such people TURN AWAY!”
Should you partake with so-called Christian assemblies and congregations that allow/tolerate self-professing Christians who continue to engage in blatant and unrepentant sin?
1 Cor. 5:11, "But now I have written unto you NOT to keep company, if any man that is called a BROTHER/BELIEVER be a fornicator, or covetous, or an idolator, or a railer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner; do NOT even eat with such a one.
"For what have I to do with judging those also who are outside? Do you not judge those who are INSIDE? But those who are outside God judges. Therefore “PUT AWAY from yourselves the evil person.”
Assembling, congregating or connecting weekly or daily?
Hebrews 3:13, “…EXHORT ONE ANOTHER DAILY, while it is called “Today,” lest any of you be hardened through the deceitfulness of sin.”
Titus 2:15, “…exhort and rebuke with all authority. Let no one despise you.”
Jesus identified TRUE place of worship;
John 4:21-24, Jesus/Salvation said unto her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming, when you shall NEITHER in this mountain, nor YET at Jerusalem, worship the Father. You worship you know NOT what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father IN SPIRIT AND IN TRUTH for the Father seeks such to worship him. God is a Spirit: and they that worship him MUST worship him in spirit and in truth.”
Romans 12:1, "Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to OFFER YOUR BODIES as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your TRUE and PROPER WORSHIP."
Matthew 18:20, Jesus/Salvation said, “For where two or three are gathered together in MY NAME, THERE I AM in the midst of them.”
Congregations gather in MANY names these days, but whose name are true believers REQUIRED to gather in?
Colossians 3:17, “And whatever you do in word or deed, DO ALL in the name of the Lord Jesus/Salvation, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.”
Philippians 2:9, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him (Jesus/Salvation) a NAME WHICH IS ABOVE EVERY NAME:”
Acts 4:12, “Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is NO OTHER NAME under heaven given among men, whereby we MUST be saved.”
DO NOT BE DELUDED OR DECEIVED!
*The Church is Not a Building Made of Brick and Mortar
*Church is Not Just a One or Two Hour Meeting Each Week
*Man's TRADITIONS of “church” must yield to the Lord definition of church as His holy SCRIPTURE/DOCTRINES instruct?
* Don’t just DO church… Followers of Jesus ARE The Church and; therefore, will BE The Church 24/7
Yes, ALL true follower of Jesus/Salvation are God’s church/building/temple and are FREE to use the gift(s) the Lord placed in them to edify and build up any and ALL of the brethren following Jesus/Salvation, who are scattered throughout the world.
Revelation 3:1, Jesus/SALVATION said, “Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, and let no man take your crown.”
