The Holy Spirit

John 15:26 (Jesus)...(sent)...from the Father, the Spirit of truth...

However...

John 14:17 ...the world cannot receive...(the Spirit of truth)...because it neither sees Him nor knows Him...

1 Corinthians 2:14 ...the natural man does not receive the things of the Spirit of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

Romans 8:6 ...to be carnally minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace.

John 3:5-6 ...unless one is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God. That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.

John 3:8 The wind blows where it wishes, and you hear the sound of it, but cannot tell where it comes from and where it goes. So is everyone who is born of the Spirit.

Galatians 4:29 ...he who was born according to the flesh then persecuted him who was born according to the Spirit, even so it is now.

Romans 8:5 ...those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who live according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit.

Galatians 6:8 ...he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life.

John 6:63 It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.

1 John 5:6 ...the Spirit is truth.

2 Corinthians 3:17 ...the Lord is the Spirit...

1 Corinthians 6:17 ...he who is joined to the Lord is one spirit with Him.

Acts 5:32 ...the Holy Spirit (is) given to those who obey Him.

Romans 8:9-10 ...if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His....if Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is life because of righteousness.

You who claim Jesus is in you...

Galatians 3:2 This only I want to learn from you: Did you receive the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?

Because...

Galatians 3:13-14 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law...that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.

Romans 7:6 ...we have been delivered from the law, having died to what we were held by, so that we should serve in the newness of the Spirit and not in the oldness of the letter.

2 Corinthians 3:6 ...the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.

Romans 8:2 ...the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made (us) free from the law of sin and death.

2 Corinthians 3:17 ...where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Galatians 5:18 ...if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Romans 8:14 ...as many as are led by the Spirit of God...are sons of God.

Galatians 5:22-23 ...the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.

If indeed...

Romans 8:15 ...you received the Spirit of adoption...

You should have...

Acts 1:8 ...receive(d) power...

And a...

John 16:13 ...guide...into all truth...

You should know...

1 Corinthians 6:19 ...you are not your own...(...your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit...

Also know this...

1 Corinthians 12:7-11 ...the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each one for the profit of all for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He wills.

1 Corinthians 12:13 ...by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body—whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free—and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.

Acts 2:17 ...it shall come to pass in the last days, says God, That I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your young men shall see visions, Your old men shall dream dreams.

Warning...

Ephesians 4:30 ...do not grieve the Holy Spirit...

1 Thessalonians 5:19-20 Do not quench the Spirit. Do not despise prophecies.

Ezekiel 13:3 Thus says the Lord GOD: “Woe to the foolish prophets, who follow their own spirit and have seen nothing!

2 Peter 1:21 ...holy men of God (speak) as they (are) moved by the Holy Spirit.

Mark 3:28-30 “Assuredly, I say to you, all sins will be forgiven the sons of men, and whatever blasphemies they may utter; but he who blasphemes against the Holy Spirit never has forgiveness, but is subject to eternal condemnation”— because they said, “He has an unclean spirit.”

Hebrews 6:4-6 ...it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.

Isaiah 30:1 “Woe to the rebellious children,” says the LORD, “Who take counsel, but not of Me, And who devise plans, but not of My Spirit, That they may add sin to sin...

Galatians 6:1-2 Brethren, if a man is overtaken in any trespass, you who are spiritual restore such a one in a spirit of gentleness, considering yourself lest you also be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

Romans 8:26 ...the Spirit...helps in our weaknesses.

Galatians 5:16 ...Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

Jon Israel replied: Hi Bob, There are a variety of gifts of the Holy Spirit, including the gift of 'helps', but not all have every gift. The one who helps clean the church out of love for Jesus has the Holy Spirit gift of 'helps'...although it may not be as flamboyant or celebrated by others. The Bible say that the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy. So all who declare that Jesus will return are prophesying by the Holy Spirit. The Bible says, "no one can say 'Jesus is Lord', except by the Holy Spirit." Therefore, everyone who truly believes that Jesus is their Lord and Savior, and testifies about Him, has to have the Holy Spirit. Also, the reality is that nobody can repent unless they are convicted by the Holy Spirit. All who receive Jesus must have His Holy Spirit at work in them. Conviction about sin and the need to repent is evidence of the Holy Spirit in a persons life. I think the problem is that we think we lack the Holy Spirit unless our gift is a greater anointing that is super powerful and/or more evident to others.

I hope this helps shine the light. Blessings Jon Israel
